Maurice Sklar Ministries

Welcome To Maurice Sklar Ministries

Maurice Sklar was born in New Orleans to a Russian-Jewish family with a rich musical heritage. By the age of four, he began playing the violin. He won many awards from the age of nine and left home to study violin with Fredell Lack in Houston, Texas when he was thirteen. He then studied with Ivan Galamian, as well as Dorothy DeLay at the graduate level at Juilliard from 1985-1989. He was originally accepted at the Juilliard School in New York City at age 15 and graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1983.

He was a winner in the 1986 Young Concert Artists Auditions in NYC. Maurice Sklar has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras, including The Little Orchestra Society of New York at Lincoln Center, The Houston Symphony, The New Orleans Philharmonic, The Monmouth, New Jersey Symphony, The Curtis Symphony Orchestra, to mention but a few. He is renowned internationally as a master musician.

He joined the music faculty of Oral Roberts University in 1990-2003 as an Artist in Residence and Professor of Violin in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

God has used Maurice to pioneer a prophetic and healing ministry in addition to restoring classical music as worship into both the Jewish and Christian worlds as a psalmist and a concert violinist. He has been in a full-time traveling ministry since 1991.

He is married to his beloved bride, Carolyn Sklar, who is an anointed worship dancer and a great lover of Israel. They minister together in Israel, America, Europe and the nations in worship, healing, and deliverance.

They reside in Bradenton, Florida as active members representing Israel at Christian Retreat Family Church, and travel extensively bringing God’s Glory and Healing to help prepare the Bride for Yeshua’s soon Coming!
