He Restoreth My Soul is the moving personal testimony of an acclaimed musical prodigy whose journey took him from the highest peaks of classical performance to the deepest valleys of despair, and ultimately into the transforming grace of God.
A Journey of Genius, Struggle, and Divine Restoration
Shaped by a unique combination of early challenges, phenomenal musical talent, and profound encounters with God, Maurice Sklar emerged as one of the most brilliant concert violinists of the twentieth century. This compelling memoir offers an intimate look at his life, detailing:
Overcoming Childhood Adversity: How raw courage and spiritual sensitivity carried him through early seasons of fear and anxiety.
Musical Excellence & Genius: Insights into the career and discipline of a world-class virtuoso recognized by major classical music publications.
Spiritual Renewal: The true story of how God restores broken lives, turning beauty into ashes and heaviness into praise (Isaiah 61:3).
“Without a doubt, God has given me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness… (Isaiah 61:3). I can truly say, ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want…He restoreth my soul…'” — Maurice Sklar
